BROKER'S COMMENT
"Chance Discovery is without doubt one of the finest Discovery 55s on the market today. Her current (second) owner has spared no effort in presenting her in immaculate condition. The hull has just been repainted and gleams as new, the underwater sections have been fully serviced, the superstructure detailed, and the teak decks refreshed. What was already a beautifully kept yacht has been elevated to a pristine standard.
As brokers, it is immediately apparent—even from a distance—when a yacht is in truly superb condition, and Chance Discovery stands out on every level. Not only does the exterior present as new, but the interior is equally flawless, offering the feel of a freshly launched yacht.
Designed by Ron Holland with interiors by Ken Freivokh, the Discovery 55 is widely regarded as a true bluewater cruising yacht that combines outstanding sailing performance with luxurious comfort for extended stays on board. Chance Discovery is a remarkable example, reflecting an owner’s dedication to meticulous care and pride of ownership.
In 2024 and 2025, nearly €200,000 has been invested in the boat—expenses a new owner will not need to face for years to come. VAT was originally paid in the UK in 2004, and as the yacht was within the EU at the time of Brexit (documented), her EU VAT status is also fully settled. She is currently available for viewings in the stunning setting of Porto Montenegro, where we will be pleased to welcome you on board."

OWNER'S COMMENT
"Our ownership of Chance Discovery has always been about love — love for each other, for the yacht, and for the sea. From the beginning, we have cared for her with the same attention and pride you give to something truly special. Every detail has been maintained and upgraded with thought and dedication, ensuring she remains in pristine condition inside and out.
She has also been our companion in exploration. Through our involvement with the Marine Mammals Research Association, Chance Discovery has taken us to waters rarely visited, offering us the unique privilege of discovering places where little is known. And she has done so with the perfect blend of comfort, safety, and style that the Discovery 55 is renowned for.
Sadly, due to personal circumstances, the time has come to pass her on. We hope her next owners will feel the same joy and pride we have felt — and will continue her story of adventure, care, and love."

DESCRIPTION
Boarding Chance Discovery is easy from the generous teak-laid swim platform. Here you will find the davits and tender, perfectly positioned for launching and retrieval, as well as a comfortable spot for swimming or boarding from a dock. Wide steps lead up to the aft deck, with built-in seats in the railing on port and starboard. The aft deck offers plenty of space for relaxing while underway or at anchor.
Entering the cockpit, you immediately notice the extensive helm station, leaving no doubt that this yacht is designed for effortless control. Electric winches are mounted on port and starboard for the foresails, while a central electric winch is fitted for the mainsail. The cockpit is well protected and offers space for dining or relaxing under the bimini, with clear views all around. Moving forward along the wide teak side decks, the sense of durability and seaworthiness is immediately apparent from the high-quality stainless steel hardware. The foredeck provides ample working space around the windlass and ground tackle, as well as additional lounging areas.
Returning aft, entry to the interior is via the secure companionway. You step down into the bright and welcoming deck saloon, with large panoramic windows flooding the space with natural light. To port, a comfortable wraparound settee and dining table provide an excellent spot to enjoy a meal or take in the view, while to starboard a pilot berth and the navigation station create a versatile and practical layout. Moving aft on port, the spacious galley is beautifully finished and fully equipped with ample refrigeration, storage, and worktop space — ideal for extended cruising. The galley also doubles as a private passageway leading to the impressive owner’s suite. This full-beam cabin offers a large double berth, extensive storage, vanity, and seating area, as well as an en suite bathroom. The comfort and finish here reflect the Discovery ethos of bluewater capability combined with luxury.
Engine access is excellent, with a dedicated walk-in engine room accessible through the bathroom, providing straightforward access to the main engine, generator, and technical systems.
Returning to the saloon, a few steps forward lead to the foreship. To port is a guest cabin with twin berths, while forward lies the large guest stateroom with double berth and ample storage, both served by a dedicated guest bathroom.
Throughout the yacht, the interior design by Ken Freivokh combines rich wood joinery with luxury fabrics, creating a timeless and elegant atmosphere. Chance Discovery is equally at home on ocean passages or exploring remote anchorages in comfort and style.
