DESCRIPTION

Stepping aboard Diane, the cockpit immediately shows the practical character of this Hanse 418. Twin steering wheels leave the centre of the cockpit open and provide easy access to the wide bathing platform, while all sail controls are led aft for straightforward handling from the helm positions. The electric primary winches further simplify sail handling, making Diane particularly well suited to short-handed or solo sailing.

The cockpit is protected by an extra-large custom bimini, supplied with both summer and winter screens, creating a comfortable sheltered outdoor living area. A cockpit table and cushions make the space equally suitable for relaxed meals or spending a full day underway. The aft deck also incorporates the custom dinghy storage cradle, with the 2026 Arimar 2.4m tender and Torqeedo electric outboard.

From the cockpit, the companionway leads into a bright and welcoming saloon. The central dining area is surrounded by comfortable seating and benefits from the large hull and deck windows, creating an open and spacious feeling throughout the interior.

The layout works particularly well for a couple, while still offering generous accommodation for guests. The saloon is equipped with heating, multiple fans, a Fusion sound system and a Samsung Smart TV, making it comfortable both underway and when spending longer periods aboard.

The extended galley occupies the aft part of the saloon and has been equipped with long-term cruising in mind. It includes a gas oven with two burners, a 12V refrigerator with ice box, a separate 12V drawer refrigerator/freezer and a dedicated 35-litre freezer in the aft storage area.

A microwave and a comprehensive collection of cooking equipment and utensils complete the galley, giving Diane the facilities to comfortably cater for extended periods away from shore.

The port aft cabin provides a comfortable double berth and benefits from good natural light and ventilation. Opposite is the dedicated aft storage cabin, providing valuable additional space for provisions, cruising equipment, tools and spares.

This arrangement is particularly practical for extended cruising, keeping the living areas free from the equipment and supplies inevitably accumulated during longer voyages.

The single head is positioned to port between the aft cabin and saloon. It features an electric toilet and a separate shower area, providing a practical and comfortable bathroom arrangement for the yacht.

Forward, the generous master cabin features a comfortable double berth and ample storage. Large hull windows and overhead hatches provide natural light and ventilation, while the cabin also benefits from the yacht's Webasto heating system and additional ventilation fans.

The forward cabin offers a pleasant private retreat, with the surrounding storage making it well suited to longer stays aboard.

Diane has been extensively equipped for independent cruising. Her electrical system combines 400Ah of lithium battery capacity, a 2,000W Victron inverter/charger, 1,000W of Solbian solar panels with three independent MPPT controllers and a Balmar 170XT alternator with external Bluetooth regulator.

The Victron Cerbo GX provides central monitoring of the electrical system, with remote access through Victron VRM and Victron Connect. Together, this gives Diane a high degree of independence from shore power.

Navigation equipment includes a B&G Zeus 3S 12-inch chartplotter, B&G Halo radar, Triton 2 multifunction display, B&G autopilot with auto-tack and gybe functions, AIS transceiver and VHF.

Her sailing inventory includes the Quantum AC5 performance laminate mainsail and self-tacking jib, both with only around 50 hours of use, together with a new Quantum Code Zero and new gennaker, both on anti-torsion furling systems.

Overall, Diane combines the spacious and practical layout of the Hanse 418 with an unusually comprehensive cruising specification, making her ready for extended Mediterranean cruising with very little left to add.
