"This CHB 34 trawler represents a rare opportunity to acquire a truly well-kept example of one of the most popular family trawlers ever built. Originally delivered new in Italy and now offered for sale by only her third owner—a dedicated and experienced yachtsman—this vessel has been maintained to an outstanding technical standard.

Built by the renowned Chung Hwa Boatbuilding yard in Taiwan, the CHB 34 enjoyed immense popularity until the mid-1980s and was also marketed under the names Hercules 105 and Marine Trader 34. Known for her solid construction, seaworthy hull, and practical layout, she remains a highly respected choice among trawler enthusiasts.

What sets this particular vessel apart is her exceptional overall condition. Both technically and cosmetically, she presents far above average. The interior is beautifully maintained, featuring a warm and inviting atmosphere, enhanced by newly upholstered salon seating and brand-new mattresses in both cabins that have never been used.

OWNER'S COMMENT


"After sailing on a friend’s CHB 34, I was so impressed by her capabilities and practicality that I began searching for one of my own. After two years, I found this particular example and purchased her from her second owner in 2017.

Following the purchase, I sailed her to Marina Porto Montenegro, where over time I brought the yacht to an outstanding condition and gave her the name Scallywag. I take great pride in technical perfection and have ensured that the yacht is maintained to an exceptional standard—this becomes immediately clear upon opening the engine room hatch.

Among the various upgrades is a WhisperPower Piccolo 4 generator, which has only been run for testing purposes. During my ownership, the yacht has been used exclusively for day trips in the Bay of Kotor and as a comfortable swimming platform. The mattresses have been replaced and have never been used.

As a keen yachtsman, I now own three yachts and have decided to reduce my fleet. I would be pleased to see Scallywag go to a new owner who will continue to enjoy her for many years to come."

This vessel is considered VAT paid under EU regulations. She was originally delivered new in Italy in 1982 and she was already in EU waters prior to 1 January 1998. Hence, she qualifies as deemed VAT paid in accordance with EU transitional arrangements for recreational craft.


While the overall condition of the yacht is considered to be one of the best examples on the market today, the teak decks are excluded from inspection due to their age. The deck of the aft cabin requires attention.
